Balsgård Foodtech AB was born in 2018 as a continuation of the Centre of Innovative beverages that the Swedish Agricultural University had run since 2010. Balsgård Foodtech intends to further develop the concept, adding new capabilities.

Balsgård Foodtech AB is a co-owned company, with Mårtensson Consulting AB as main owner and SLU Holding and Högskolan i HKR Holding as minority owners.
